Junior Lacrosse Returns to the South Shore

St-Hubert, Thursday, December 12, 2019

At the Ontario Lacrosse Association AGM held November 8-10, 2019 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League (OJCLL) accepted and endorsed the decision to relocate the Eastern Townships Jr C Extreme Eagles team to the South Shore of Montreal. The team will now be known as South Shore Jr C Centurions and play their local games in Longueuil.

A larger lacrosse network

The OJCLL has 2 divisions (West and East) and has 17 teams (9 in the West and 8 in the East). Two new teams will join the league in 2020, Orangeville and Six Nations, both in the West Division. The Centurions play in the East Division against Cornwall, Nepean, North Shore (Blainville), Huntsville, Whitby, Clarington and Peterborough. The South Shore Jr C Centurions will, therefore, compete with East Division teams in the regular season within an irregular 16-game schedule (8 local and 8 on the road), in addition to the playoffs. The team will play home and away games against each team in the East Division.

The South Shore Jr C Centurions represent the "excellence" component of Junior Lacrosse on the South Shore and the Eastern Townships. The primary goal of the team is to develop and advance Junior Lacrosse at all levels: technical, teaching and sports visibility.

Players from the South Shore, the Eastern Townships and WILA are invited to the team's training camp.
